Ariana Grande thanked fans after concluding the North American leg of her Eternal Sunshine Tour in Chicago

“i am overwhelmed with love and the deepest gratitude,” she said on Instagram

She plans to finish the tour with 10 shows in London before taking a break from public-facing work, a representative for the singer previously told PEOPLE

Ariana Grande is expressing appreciation for her fans.

The Grammy-winning pop star wrapped the North American leg of her Eternal Sunshine Tour with the third of three shows at Chicago’s United Center on Thursday, Aug. 6 and shared a thankful message with fans on Instagram to mark the occasion.

“i love you,” began Grande’s post. “i cannot believe that this concludes the north american leg of the eternal sunshine tour.”

“i am overwhelmed with love and the deepest gratitude. thank you endlessly for the most special, beautiful, joyful and deeply fulfilling few months,” continued the “Petal” singer. “i will cherish every moment of this time with you all & these memories forever. thank you, chicago.”

Grande then looked forward to wrapping the tour with 10 shows at London’s O2 Arena through Sept. 1. “london, i cannot wait to see you soon. i love you all more than ever,” she concluded.

The final North American shows of the Eternal Sunshine Tour come after a representative for Grande told PEOPLE earlier this month that she’s “taking a step back from visibility” after the London performances.

“She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny,” the rep continued. “This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much.”

PEOPLE also confirmed Grande will no longer appear in the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George with her Wicked costar Jonathan Bailey. The production was scheduled to open at London’s Barbican Centre next summer.

The announcements come as Grande’s physical appearance and overall health have become a topic of public discussion, which ramped up following the release of her “Petal” music video on July 31.

Grande spoke to the crowd about the announcements at the United Center on Monday, Aug. 3. “The announcement that was made yesterday was not a reactive or impulsive thing. It is something that I had decided to plan,” she said, adding that she made the plan “quietly, a long time ago.”

The “Positions” artist told fans it was not true that “negativity” was “ruining things for me.”

“No matter what noises exist out there, nothing will be able to distort my reality or be more real to me or not as real to me as this love that we share,” Grande told fans, before calling the Eternal Sunshine Tour “one of the most healing, beautiful, correct and special experiences” of her life.

Grande’s latest album, Petal, came out on Friday, July 31.
