Beth Stern almost always has a full and furry house.
It's common for the actress and animal advocate to be caring for dozens of foster cats at one time, along with her crew of permanent pets. Stern tells PEOPLE she is "so grateful" to be able to dedicate her energy to animal rescue and welfare, and that her husband, Howard Stern, supports her passion and the numerous animal residents who come with it.
Beth doesn't keep her devotion to helping pets confined to her home, where you can often find her caring for neonatal kittens and animals with special needs. The celebrity pet parent is also the host of the Great American Rescue Bowl, a Super Bowl Sunday event, featuring adoptable cats and dogs from North Shore Animal League America playing their own adorable version of football with two teams: The Snuggle Squad and The Cuddle Crew.
"It's something that is always a highlight of my year," Beth says, noting that watching the action live "never stops being cute."
Beth has been hosting the Great American Rescue Bowl since its inception and has watched all of the pet players get adopted year after year, a result that never fails to "bring me joy," she shares.
On Feb. 8, the 2026 Great American Rescue Bowl will stream exclusively on Great American Pure Flix and premiere on Great American Family and GFAM+ at 12 p.m. Beth points out that the timing for this precious event, designed to raise awareness about pet adoption, ensures that animal-loving sports fans can watch the Great American Rescue Bowl and "the other big game" of the 2026 Super Bowl season without any conflict.
She hopes that the 2026 Great American Rescue Bowl will continue to inspire others to foster and adopt pets rather than purchase them.

Beth also shares the beauty of animal rescue and the unique situations that can arise from pet fostering and adoption in her upcoming children's book, Coco and Stephen, Together Forever: How a Kitten and Bunny Became Best Friends, a sweet tale about the bond between two rescue animals that is inspired by real-world events Beth witnessed in her own home.
