Patrick Mahomes has been working hard during Kansas City Chiefs training camp to return to full fitness for the start of the 2026 NFL season, and his wife, Brittany, took their three children on a vacation to Hawaii.
Mahomes tore his ACL last season, and the Chiefs failed to reach the playoffs in his absence. The gruesome injury prompted Mahomes to contact NFL legend Tom Brady, who suffered the same injury at a similar stage of his career.
The Chiefs' quarterback has since returned to practice and is trending toward a Week 1 start, though he went viral for the wrong reasons after a bizarre pass attempt was captured on video. With Mahomes locking in on training camp, Brittany took the kids away and had a memorable time.

Brittany posted several photos of herself, Bronze, Sterling, and Golden in Hawaii on a summer getaway. Although her husband wasn't able to make the trip, Brittany said they had the "time of our lives" on vacation.
She posted snaps of herself and her children at a resort and on the beach, as well as photos of them meeting Disney characters. The Mahomes family enjoyed their summer break before the chaos of the new NFL season began, allowing Patrick to focus on his recovery.

"Took the kiddos to Hawaii, Bronze decided he’s not scared of mascots anymore and Sterling decided she’s not scared of the ocean anymore and Golden… well she’s in her own world. I would say we had the time of our life," she wrote on Instagram.
While Mahomes is still not 100 percent healthy, he's confident of starting in Week 1, and head coach Andy Reid also has faith in the franchise quarterback. At the start of training camp, Mahomes said: "The process isn't over.
"It'll be something I'll probably be dealing with the next few years of my career and throughout the rest of my career. But I feel comfortable now being able to go out there and run the offense the way the offense is supposed to be run."
Mahomes has also impressed coach Reid, as there were extreme doubts over his Week 1 status after suffering the injury last year. "Pat’s doing great with his [rehab]," Reid said.

"Right now, he’s got clearance to practice and do all the different periods that we have in this camp. We’ll just take it day by day and see how he does.
"He’ll have plenty of eyes on him from coaches to trainers to doctors. But right now, he’s been cleared to go ahead and participate fully."
Although Mahomes is trending well, there are still no guarantees over his status. Given his value to the Chiefs, he won't be thrown into the lineup until he's 100 percent ready.
"I’m optimistic, and I know he is extremely optimistic," Reid said. "But I think you’ve got to see how things go here. Let’s just see where we’re at and not make any predictions or anything else. Take it day by day and see where it goes."
