The convention will occur two months after the series' tour, Dancing with the Stars Live!, makes its final stop in Akron, Ohio on May 13. The tour, featuring over 70 performances across North America, follows a record-breaking season for the competition series. As the show celebrated its 20th anniversary, it became “the most-watched unscripted reality show on TV,” Vulture reported in October 2025.
"It’s one of the more dramatic, eye-popping transformations that I’ve ever witnessed as a research person in this industry," Ari Goldman, ABC Entertainment senior vice-president for content strategy and scheduling, told the outlet.
Week after week, Dancing with the Stars broke its own records. The finale, which saw Irwin and Carson take home the Len Goodman Mirrorball trophy, earned 9.24 million total viewers and became the show's strongest finale since Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough’s win in 2015.
