Donald Trump sparked new health concerns after his assistant shared footage of him meeting with military personnel.
The 80-year-old president traveled to New Jersey on Friday, July 31, and spent the weekend at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster. President Trump carved out time from his schedule to meet with armed forces members, with his communications advisor Margo Martin posting a clip of the encounter on X.
In footage shared by Martin on Saturday, August 1, the president was shown greeting service members with handshakes. "Thank you sir," the men were heard saying to Trump as he remarked, "I'm not worried about missiles or drones." The president was also joined by his loyal assistant, Natalie Harp.

Martin wrote alongside her latest video, ".@POTUS visits with our great military armed forces in NJ," accompanied by an American flag emoji. In the clip, Trump sported a white polo shirt, loose-fitting suit pants and a red cap.
He was also still sporting a golf glove while greeting the military service members.

The president's look drew attention from Martin's followers, with viewers voicing worries about his weight. "What a Fatty!" one person mocked.
"That obese slob needs to go on a diet! Looks disgustingly awful!" another commenter suggested, while a third Trump critic observed, "He's put on weight."
Another commenter fired back, "Could he have shown some respect and worn a suit, not his golf sweats that make look like 10 pounds of potatoes in a 5 pound sack.......really."

Other X users raised broader concerns regarding Trump's physical condition. One user claimed, "And he covers up his BRUISED HAND with a white glove!!!" while another characterized him as, "Such a rotten man!"
The White House stated that Trump weighs 238lb according to his annual medical examination in May 2026, reflecting a 14lb increase since his checkup the previous April.
Capt. Sean Barbabella advised the president to boost his physical activity in order to shed the additional weight.
Before heading to New Jersey, Trump attended the dignified transfer ceremony at Dover Air Force Base, paying his respects to four U.S. service members killed in the Middle East amid the ongoing war in Iran.
He also hosted a press briefing at Camp David on Friday, July 31, during which he addressed the war in Iran and outlined his case for why Americans should cast their votes Republican in the forthcoming midterm elections.

Martin accompanied the president to Camp David and captured footage of him welcoming members of the press.
In a video shared by Martin on X, Trump stated, "Thank you very much. This is something very unique, it's Camp David and this room is a very, very special room. I don't believe the press has ever come anywhere near it. We are the party of transparency and we believe in transparency."
The president went on to say, "I think it's good for you to see certain aspects of Camp David, it's a very special place. But it was not, I guess the last visit was with Eisenhower where they allowed you onto the actual campus and it's a long time ago. But never into this room."
Trump wrapped up by saying, "I want to thank all of you for being here."
