On August 5, Lara Trump shared 13 pictures on her Instagram, captioned, “Lately,” adding a smiling face with hearts. The photos featured moments from her summer, including delicious-looking green drinks, horseback riding, her children, and her pet dog.

One of the pictures was with her husband, Eric Trump, both of them looking in the same direction, with Lara Trump in front of her. He was sporting a blue shirt and white shorts, with a matching blue cap, while she was wearing a white sundress with blue floral designs.
But fans focused on their awkward pose in the photograph. He had held his wife’s arms awkwardly, which some users said made it appear he was restraining her. The post immediately became a subject of online ridicule.
The critics had barely forgiven her for her alleged ‘disrespectful act’ of checking her watch during Lindsy Graham’s funeral. But she provided clarification in a video on her YouTube channel about her actions and why she glanced at her watch.
According to the clip on X, she explained that she had been endlessly receiving calls from the summer camp her children were attending in New York. She explained that while she and Eric Trump were attending the late senator’s funeral in Washington, D.C., the calls were about their two children, who were at summer camp in New York.
“I, on my Apple Watch, start getting phone calls several from the camp that my kids go to. Well, any parent knows that is not that’s not good,” she explained. “That means there’s a problem. That means they may need to reach me. That means someone is hurt or something. So I did what any parent would do, and I tried to very discreetly inquire as to what was going on.”

She continued that she checked her smartwatch to determine whether she needed to leave the funeral. She mocked the critics, saying, “But the only thing you’ll see is, ‘Laura Trump checks her watch’ like I’m checking the time. Get over yourselves.”
Online Users Call Lara Trump’s Photo ‘Weird’
Lara Trump’s picture with Eric Trump went viral on social media, prompting users to make various remarks mocking the couple. A user wrote, “What a weird photo.” Another Instagram user said, “Eric let her go.”
