Insiders Reveal Kate Middleton and Queen Camilla’s Alleged Role in Prince Andrew’s Downfall

In 2025, when Prince Andrew was facing intense public scrutiny over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, King Charles made a swift decision to strip him of his royal titles and remove him from Royal Lodge in Windsor. But it turns out that the king was helped by two women, Queen Camilla and Kate Middleton.

A source briefed Radar on how the two royal women helped Charles steer through the former Duke of York’s scandal and reportedly became the driving force behind his downfall. Additionally, Prince William also put firm pressure, privately backing Middleton to end the scandal.

Source Claims Queen Camilla and Kate Middleton Played a Key Role in Ex-Prince Andrew’s Downfall

During an exclusive interview with Radar, a source told the outlet that, inside the palace, no one pretends that King Charles was acting “alone” in removing Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s royal titles and honors. They mentioned that there was a long period of discussion, and Queen Camilla and Kate Middleton were the ones “constantly” speaking out against the disgraced royal.

The insider said, “Kate and Camilla were consistently making the case that the monarchy could not carry Andrew as a working royal or as ‘Prince Andrew’ any longer.” They also noted that the two were not shouting during the discussion but their words carried weight. They noted that people were talking about a ‘female touch,’ but in the former Duke of York’s case it was applied brutally.

Consequently, the two became the “key figures” behind former Prince Andrew’s downfall, forcing him to stay out of the public eye. “Kate and Camilla are never going to eclipse William or Charles in public, but behind the scenes they have become incredibly powerful,” the source said.

Additionally, they guided King Charles because both women were fully aware that Prince William’s future reign would be severely damaged and burdened if he had to contend with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s presence and titles. Another source claimed that though King Charles was the “driving force” behind the formal removal of the 66-year-old’s titles, both Middleton and Camilla decided how far he could go.

“They are seen by some as the real power behind the throne in this case,” the source claimed. “The ones who helped Charles and William accept that the only way to protect the monarchy was to send Andrew into exile.”

‘If You’re Going to Do This, Do It Properly’

In the same report from Radar, another source explained that Prince William was also part of the discussion. He made it clear that he did not want to spend the next 20 years, “dealing with the headache of his uncle’s scandals.” They added that he put firm pressure on his father for a “clean break” and privately backed the Princess of Wales.

The source noted that Queen Camilla had realized that scandals shred royal reputations and that taking half-measures does not work. They emphasized, “The message from both was essentially: if you’re going to do this, do it properly – remove the titles, remove the honors, remove the lodge.”

As a result, the decision to strip Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of his royal title and evict him from Royal Lodge was seen as a “family decision.” Nevertheless, King Charles has reportedly offered some respite to his younger brother, as he has been relentlessly criticized for his name being present in the Epstein files.
