Law Roach opened up about Zendaya's headline-making press tour looks for The Drama at the opening night of Cats: The Jellicle Ball on Broadway

"It's about the storytelling," the image architect tells PEOPLE

The actress debuted a series of red carpet looks inspired by a traditional wedding rhyme

Law Roach is reflecting on his red carpet strategy for Zendaya.

At the Cats: The Jellicle Ball opening night on Broadway on Tuesday, April 7, the image architect, 47, spoke to PEOPLE about the actress' headline-making press tour looks for her latest film, The Drama.

The A24 flick, starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, follows an engaged couple dealing with the fallout of a shocking confession. As a nod to the wedding-themed storyline, the Euphoria star and her longtime stylist rolled out a slew of bridal-inspired red carpet looks.

In addition to lots of bridal white, Zendaya, 28, played into the traditional wedding rhyme by wearing "something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue."

"It's an old tradition that I think a lot of brides play into," Roach tells PEOPLE at the New York City event. "And since the storyline of the movie is based around a wedding, I think it was just something that we came up with, and it's about the storytelling."

Fans will be seeing their fair share of Zendaya red carpet looks this year, as the actress gears up to promote season 3 of Euphoria, Dune: Part Three, Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey.

As for what Roach can tease for her upcoming press looks? "Nothing."

That same night, Zendaya stepped out for the season 3 premiere of Euphoria in a daring halter gown by Ashi Studio. Zendaya wore the backless dress from the label's spring 2026 couture collection with matching brown pointed-toe heels.

She accessorized the gown, which featured a train, with minimal jewels. Zendaya wore diamond hoop earrings by Chopard and diamond rings — including her five-carat engagement ring from Tom Holland and the gold wedding band she's been seen wearing throughout her press run for The Drama.

The actress kicked off the press tour for The Drama in her "something old," sporting a white Vivienne Westwood gown that she initially wore to the 2015 Oscars for the L.A. premiere on March 17.

At the Paris premiere, she arrived in a long-sleeved bridal white gown designed by Nicolas Ghesquière and Louis Vuitton with a black bow tied to her back to create a dramatic train, which served as her "something new."

"Something borrowed" came in Rome, when Zendaya wore a black Giorgio Armani Privé gown that Cate Blanchett originally wore to the 2025 Venice Film Festival.

"When this whole idea came together, she was one of the first people I thought of," she said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. "Both Law and I remember, when she wore this dress for the first time ... I was like, 'I wish I could wear that dress. What a dress.' "

She rounded out the premiere looks in New York City with a Schiaparelli gown constructed with thousands of hand-dyed silk feathers, taken right off the runway of Paris Fashion Week. The gown's bright blue details served as her "something blue."

At the premiere, she told A24 that the dress was an immediate favorite from the fashion house's January haute couture show.

"As soon as it came down the runway, I think [Law] knew it was our 'something blue,' " the actress shared.
