NASCAR great Ned Jarrett has died at age 93.

On Friday, June 5, Jarrett's family announced the driver's death in a statement to Fox Sports' Bob Pockrass. "With profound sadness, the family of NASCAR Hall of Fame driver and radio/tv personality, Ned Jarrett, announces his passing on Thursday, June 4, 2025," the statement began.

Jarrett "died peacefully of natural causes at his home in Newton, N.C. with his family by his side," according to his family.

The statement continued, "He was 93 years old. Our father was a devout Christian and a devoted, loving, family man. He was a friend to everyone he met and NASCAR's oldest living champion. By all accounts, he was a true NASCAR legend. While we mourn his passing, we celebrate the remarkable life of an amazing man and truly the best father anyone could have wished for. Rest in peace, dad."

Jarrett was a two-time NASCAR Grand National Series champion. He shared two sons, Glenn and Dale — both of whom also became race car drivers — with his late wife Martha, who died in 2023.

Reactions to the sad news immediately began pouring in online as fans called Jarrett "one of the all time greatest" NASCAR stars. "OH NO! :( Gentleman Ned. Those of us who grew up with him calling races had it the best. Folks like him and Buddy Baker," said one user.
