Pete Davidson has some thoughts about influencer culture – and, of course, the internet has some thoughts about Pete Davidson having those thoughts.

The comedian sparked a debate after going after influencer culture, questioning what exactly women are doing when they film themselves getting ready, dancing on TikTok – and making "$40 million a year" in the process.
And, well, we think he might have answered his own question there.
And given that Davidson previously dated Kim Kardashian (arguably the influencer blueprint), the irony has not gone unnoticed.

During a sit-down with Variety, the former SNL star opened up about what he described as the "crazy s**t" people do online: "It's bad, and it makes me sad, you know, and girls are just talking to themselves on there, and they're like, 'Okay, come get ready with me,' and I'm like, 'Who the f**k are you? What do you do?' Nothing. What the f**k is this?"

The 32-year-old went on to say the world was "broken" before turning his attention to the phenomenon of TikTok: "There's girls my age that go on TikTok, and they'll like mutter like a thing and then do this like dance, and I'm like, 'What the f**k are you doing? This is insane. Does no one else see how fucking insane and lame this is?'"

Unsurprisingly, it wasn't long before the influencer world chimed in on his comments.
Hayley Kalil (@haleyybaylee) penned: "Mind you, he does the same thing, just for a TV camera instead of a phone camera."
Max Balegade (@max_balegde) also weighed in, writing: "Mind you, this man fumbled Ariana Grande AND Kim Kardashian, so I won't be listening to him."
Ouch.

Elsewhere in the interview, Davidson also came to the defence of another famous ex, Ariana Grande, saying he doesn't like the criticism she receives "at all."

"She’s a really strong person – I’ve witnessed it – and I don’t understand it," he shared. "She knows how to handle this stuff though. She’s been around. So she’ll be OK, but I think it’s f***** up."
