Prince Harry completed a skydive in Canada before phoning his wife, Meghan Markle, on Friday, September 25.

The Duke of Sussex was filmed showcasing his skydiving abilities as he parachuted from an aircraft north of Toronto, raising funds for two veteran charities while fulfilling a pledge he made to a 102-year-old former paratrooper the previous year. Harry was subsequently filmed making a phone call to Meghan Markle, who was in England at the time.

The 42-year-old's daring stunt comes after Prince Harry said Archie and Lilibet are 'happy in school' after the family's UK return.

The duke had made his commitment to veteran Ed Marshall last November, during a trip to the veterans center at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.

Medical professionals prevented the 102-year-old veteran from participating in the jump; however, his grandson, Mailey, stepped up and completed the skydive alongside the Duke. Ed was present to cheer them on from aboard the aircraft.

Harry commented following the jump, "Ed's been really excited about this. There's no version where you can let a 102-year-old veteran down."

"He was devastated that he couldn't jump, but it was great to have him in the back," the Duke of Sussex went on to say.

"They did put a parachute on him. We did think that he was probably going to jump by himself - glad he didn't, and he's still here! And he's going to be 103 in a few months' time."

According to CTV News, which documented the occasion, Harry's initial call was to the duchess, reports the Express.

The interviewer remarked, "We noticed you called your wife, the Duchess, immediately afterwards," before inquiring whether he'd had to persuade her to let him take part in the skydive.

Harry explained, "I didn't have to convince her, but she was relieved once we were down. It took quite a while to get up, so I think she was like, 'Are they down yet? Are they down yet?'"

Harry's visit to Canada followed multiple appearances in New York to support causes he cares deeply about amid the release of his uncle Charles Spencer's bombshell memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, which hit bookstores on September 22.
