Joanna Coles, a journalist, expressed her concerns about the matter, noting on Inside Trump’s Head podcast that the first lady has made only three appearances in the past month.

The journalist questioned her prolonged absence, wondering about the reason behind her limited appearances. She also wondered what Melania does behind the closed doors of the White House.

Expert Ponders Melania Trump’s Low Profile In Trump’s 2nd Term

During an episode of The Daily Beast’s Inside Trump’s Head podcast, Joanna Coles talked about seeing very little of Melania Trump in public. She mentioned that the first lady was last seen at the FIFA World Cup final at MetLife Stadium, and that she had made “approximately 14 to 16 public appearances this year.”

The journalist emphasized she had looked it up and described Melania Trump’s absence as a ‘vanishing act,’ which she finds surprising. She drew a comparison with Michelle Obama, who had made around 100 to 150 public appearances a year; Laura Bush and Jill Biden, both former First Ladies, had made well over 100 public appearances alongside their husbands.

“I do have questions about her because it’s very odd that she’s missing and she is particularly elegant,” Coles said. “So I always like to know what she’s wearing when she shows up. What is she doing, what she do with all her time?” The FLOTUS has remained tight-lipped about her schedule and her notable absence from public view.

Later, in the podcast, Joanna Coles drew a parallel between Franklin D. Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt, calling their relationship “pretty odd.” But she believed that they had a different relationship because Eleanor Roosevelt enjoyed being the first lady, remarking, “She was great at being first lady.”

“Melania doesn’t appear to enjoy anything to do with being first lady. I mean, she looks like she’s forced to turn out and she looks utterly miserable when she’s there,” she explained. “And for someone who was a model and used to being in front of the camera, she’s remarkably reticent.”

In the same episode of The Daily Beast’s Inside Trump’s Head podcast, Michael Wolff, the host, called it the “strangest marriage in the history of all presidential marriages.” He claimed that White House officials are “afraid” of Melania Trump because she is a “wild card.”

He continued that the White House officials were unsure what she would do next. He added that her business ventures make her the center of attention. He argued that this creates “direct conflict” with her husband because he is someone who “can’t stand anyone else being the center of attention.” He emphasized, “Do not steal the limelight.”

In a separate report from The Irish Star, TJ Higgs, an astrology expert, said Melania Trump’s Taurus star sign influences her behavior and may be contributing to tension in her marriage with President Trump. She explained, “Trump is a Gemini. Geminis thrive on communication, visibility, and being at the center of activity.”

Higgs continued that Geminis naturally prefer to share their ideas and expect people around them to be part of the bigger picture. She said the two signs have different personalities and priorities, which can create tension in a relationship.

“Astrologically, Gemini and Taurus operate very differently. Gemini embraces change, while Taurus values stability,” the expert continued. “If Melania is choosing to focus on work that highlights her own interests or priorities, Donald could initially see that as creating distance rather than partnership.”

She added that people born under Trump’s sign can react quickly when they feel “challenged or left out of the conversation. However, they can move on comfortably once the emotions are settled. Nevertheless, Higgs said that these differences would not be ‘fatal’ for marriage, calling it less like “rebellion” and more like a “very Taurus way of approaching life’s next chapter.”
