I love this time of year. August days are long, joyful, and all the more appreciated because you know they’re fleeting. Just as summer reaches its peak, the first twinges of fall begin to creep in. Things start to pick up, a season of newness begins, and you can sense the crackle of anticipation in the air.
For our Fall issue an actress who perfectly embodies that feeling graces our cover: Monica Barbaro. Say sayonara to your staid office pinstripes and fall in line with the more stylish streaks of the season. Stripes signal structure, tradition, and authority, which is why professional attire is flush with them. But for the scenic soirees of end-of-summer why not get a little sassy? Navy and white Breton stripes are a no-brainer for coastal outings and you can never go wrong with stripes of the bengal and candy variety. If you want to go a bit abstract a barcode or zigzag break the mold while toeing the trend line.
Zimmermann had flirty mini dresses that boldly boasted the motif, while Esthé and Sine Goya had chic and simple striped pieces.
