Today’s host, Craig Melvin, accidentally revealed Jenna Bush Hager’s major secret during the show’s live broadcast. Melvin accidentally confessed that Hager will have a cameo in a highly anticipated comedy drama film during a live Today show segment on April 8. The movie sequel will be released in cinemas on May 1.

Craig Melvin accidentally spilled Jenna Bush Hager’s Hollywood news during a live Today show segment on April 8. The charming host ended up making a rare mistake during the live show. Melvin and co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker were discussing The Devil Wears Prada 2 when Melvin accidentally leaked news about Hager’s cameo in the movie (via PEOPLE).

Melvin mentioned, “By the way, you know how that movie’s going to be good? You know how I can tell? JBH is in it!” The camera cut to a shocked Bush Hager, who didn’t know how to react to Melvin’s announcement.

The 44-year-old actress remarked, flabbergasted, “I don’t know that you were supposed to drop that bomb, but if you’re.” Co-host Guthrie jokingly remarked, “This is live. You cannot tell Craig anything!”

However, Melvin tried to defend his innocence by stating, “I thought it was common knowledge?” Al Roker wittily added, “It is now!” The Today host then tried to do damage control by suggesting, “Cut it out for the other feeds! Sorry about that, JBH.” Guthrie playfully chided Melvin, “Why don’t you read your journal while you’re at it?”

Luckily for fans, Melvin did not divulge more details about what role Bush Hager would possibly play in The Devil Wears Prada 2. Previously, Bush Hager dressed up as former Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour opposite Guthrie’s Miranda Priestly for the Today show’s Halloween episode in 2025. Interestingly, fans have firmly believed over the years that Meryl Streep’s character was modeled on Wintour.

In fact, Wintour and Streep starred together in the iconic cover of Vogue’s May issue as part of promotions for the film. Besides Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci will reprise their roles in the sequel.
