"NCIS" star Brian Dietzen has reunited with a beloved member of the original cast.
Dietzen popped up with former costar Pauley Perrette for a local show, the actor posted on Instagram Sunday, June 7.
"Got to see @ellavos, @tinangelband and @cloverlin07 at @thehotelcafe and hang with @thepauleyp. That's two shows we saw together in a week!" Dietzen wrote, tagging the lineup alongside a casual photo of the actor and Perrette smiling. "Music is the best. So are good friends."
Dietzen currently plays Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jimmy Palmer on the series, while Perrette previously played NCIS forensic scientist Abby Sciuto.
A 'major' change is coming to 'NCIS,' star reveals
Many fans in the comments of Dieztzen's post shared excitement to see Pearette, who has intentionally withdrawn from the spotlight in recent years. Others requested she make an appearance on "NCIS: Partners & Probies," which Diezten cohosts with Diona Reasonover, who plays current forensic scientist Kasie Hines.
Dietzen has been one of the mainstays since nearly the beginning of "NCIS," starring in a whopping 408 episodes since 2004 in Season 1. Meanwhile, Perrette starred on the series from the 2003 pilot through the end of Season 15 in 2018.

Dietzen and Sean Murray, who plays agent Timothy McGee, are the only cast members from Season 1 remaining on the series. Dietzen has been a main cast member since Season 10 and takes over the role of chief medical officer from Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard in Season 15. He has also written for the series since Season 19, including a February 2024 tribute to Palmer's mentor Ducky, played by the late David McCallum.
Dietzen told TV Insider in 2023 that he would have loved to write for the original NCIS team, including Abby.

"I love so many of these characters. Obviously [Mark Harmon], obviously Tony [Michael Weatherly], Ziva [Cote de Pablo] and Abby. All of these voices are just iconic," he said. "So if any one of these were to come back, I would be ecstatic to write for any of them."
For Perrette's character in particular, he added he would love "to have Abby's energy in there but also her heart that is as big as the sky."
